Is SaveInTown free?
Yes, it's free to all consumers. Most
features are free to vendors as well, however there
are certain advertising features that aren't free.
What is a SMS message?
SMS stands for 'Short Message Service'.
It's more commonly known as mobile texting.
It's the ability to send short messages to mobile
phones from the web or other mobile phones.
How is the ranking of search results determined?
Search ranking is done by using a search
algorithm that will determine the best results based
on keywords, relevancy, business name, person name,
email address, etc.
How can I use SaveInTown to save money?
Signing up as a Saver gives you the ability
to search for Vendors and view their SaveFile page
to receive deals, coupons, discounts and savings
from that business. You can Save With a vendor
to receive any of their Savings directly to your
Savings Board. You can also receive their
savings directly in your Messages box, directly to
your mobile phone via SMS messaging and directly to
your email when you Save With that Vendor.
What is Remember Me?
Remember Me allows your account to stay signed on for up to 30 days.
If you logout, your account will no longer stay signed on.
What is my Savings Board?
Your Savings Board displays the Savings
only from the businesses that you choose to Save
With. Here you can comment on those Savings,
rate those Savings and Share Savings with your Saver
Buddies.
What is my SaverFile page?
Your SaverFile page is a page displays the
businesses that you are Saving With, along with your
five (5) most recent Saver Deals posted. This
page allows your Saver Buddies to see what
businesses you are Saving With because of similar
interests, they may want to Save With those
businesses as well.
What is the Messages tab?
Messages tab stores your messages that you
receive directly from the Vendors that you are
Saving With. Here you can read these messages
and/or delete these messages. When you have
new messages, a star will appear on your message tab
and all new messages will show up as gray. You
will also receive messages from other Savers to
become your Saver Buddy.
What is a Saver Buddy?
Saver Buddies are other people on
SaveInTown who are saving money with SaveInTown.
You can search for Saver Buddies by name, location
and email address. Once you find a Saver Buddy
you can Add Saver by clicking the Add Saver button,
this will send a request to that Saver to become
your Saver Buddy. If the Saver declines your
request, you can re-add the saver or if they ignore
your request, you can resend request by clicking the
Resend Request button. The advantage of Saver
Buddies is the ability to Share Savings with each
other and post Saver Deals with each other.
What is a Saver Deal?
A Saver Deal is a deal that is posted only
by your Saver Buddies. Saver Deals can be any
type of deals, discounts or anything else that your
Saver Buddy wants to post. For example, if one
of your Saver Buddies was at the mall and found a
great pair of sneakers for 50% off, he can then go
and post in his Saver Deals section the deal that he
found. You can view and post Saver Deals on
the top right hand corner of your Savings Board
screen or visit the Saver Deals page by click the
See All Saver Deals link.
What is a Vendor?
A Vendor is any business who signs up for
SaveInTown as a Vendor, they will post Savings in the
form of deals, discounts, coupons or any other form
of Savings. You can view their SaveFile page
by clicking on their business name anywhere you see
it.
What is a Vendor SaveFile?
A SaveFile page is a page that is created
by the Vendors that are part of SaveInTown.
The SaveFile usually includes the business name,
their location, their hours of operation, a brief
summary of who they are, a map of their location,
Savings they posted (only viewable when signed in),
how many Savers are saving with this business, how
many views to their SaveFile page and how many
Savings they posted.
What is Current Local Savings?
Current Local Savings is an area that shows
different Savings of Vendors within a 10 mile radius
of your zip code. Even if you are not Saving
With these businesses, it will show up because maybe
you may be interested in their Savings, but don't
know it exists because you are not Saving With them.
What is Share Savings?
Share Savings gives you the ability to
share a savings with any or all of your Saver
Buddies. By clicking on Share Savings, you will
see a drop down list that includes all your savers
buddies names as well as an option to send to all of
your saver buddies. You saver buddy will then
receive this savings via email (if opted in) and in
their SaveInTown message box.
What is Send To Smart Phone?
Send To Smart Phone gives you the ability to
send a savings to your smart phone via SMS messaging. By clicking on
Send To Smart Phone, you will that you can send that
savings to your mobile device. You must have
your mobile number along with your mobile carrier
saved in your profile for this feature to work.
What is Post To Facebook?
Post To Facebook gives you the ability to
publish a post on your Facebook wall. By
clicking on Post To Facebook, you will publish a
message on your wall letting all your friends know
that you are using SaveInTown to save money.
It will publish the company that you are Saving
With.
Why do you want my Gender/Birthday/Interests?
SaveInTown collects information like
gender, birthday and interests to help improve your experience on
SaveInTown. This
information is not shared with third party
companies. Please review our
privacy policy.
How do I search for Vendors?
You can search for Vendors by business
name, keywords and/or location by using the two (2)
search features currently on SaveInTown. The first
search is located on your Savings Board. This
is a Live Search and will update as you type in the
information. The second search is the Advanced
Search found by clicking on the Advanced Search link
under the live search or by clicking on Find Savings
on the bottom of your screen. The Advanced
Search can be use to find Vendors by location.
How do I post a Saver Deal?
There are two (2) ways you can post a Saver
Deal. On the top right hand corner of your
Savings Board, you will see a Saver Deals section,
here you will find a link that says Post Saver Deal.
Click on this link and a text box will open where
you can write your saver deal and hit Post to add.
You can delete your Saver Deal once posted by
clicking on the X that shows up next to your Saver
Deal. The other way to post a Saver Deal is by
going to the Saver Deals page by clicking the link
that says See All Saver Deals. Here on
the top of the Saver Deals page you will see a text
box where you can post a Saver Deal.
How do I Save With a Vendor?
There are many ways you can Save With a
Vendor. Anywhere you see a Save With button,
you can click on this to Save With that Vendor.
In the Advanced Search, the SaveFile Page, in a
Shared Savings and other locations throughout
SaveInTown. Just click on Save With and you
will automatically be Saving With that Vendor and
all their Savings will be posted on your Savings
Board.
How can I post a comment on a Savings?
To post a comment on a Savings, you first
need to be Saving With that Vendor. Once you
are Savings With that Vendor and you have tried out
their Savings and would like to comment on it, on
your Savings Board under the Savings will be an area
that says Comments(#). Click on the link and a
text box will appear where you can add your comment.
How do I delete my comment?
If you want to delete a comment that you
posted, under the Savings where you left the
comment, there will be an X next to your comment.
Click on that X and your comment will be deleted.
How do I rate a Savings?
Rating a Savings is as easy as clicking on
any one of the five (5) stars listed on the savings.
The rating is automatic, you may not see the rate
change but it has been recorded.
How can I remove a Saver Buddy?
You can remove a Saver Buddy by visiting
your Saver Buddies page by clicking on the link on
the left hand side of your Savings Board under the
Saver Buddies section that says See All. This
will take your Saver Buddies page. Here you
can see how many businesses your Saver Buddies are
Saving With, as well as deleting the Saver Buddy by
clicking on the X next to their name.
How can I remove a Vendor I am Saving With?
You can remove a Vendor by visiting your
Saving With page by clicking on the link on the left
hand side of your Savings Board under the Saving
With section that says See All. This will take
your Saving With page. Here you can see how
many Savers are currently Saving With this Vendor,
as well as deleting the Vendor by clicking on the X
next to their business name.
How do I update my profile?
You can update your profile by clicking on
the button that says My Profile. Here you can update
the following information:
1. First & Last Name
2. City, State, Country, Postal Code
3. If you like to sign up for SMS message Savings
and an area to add your mobile number.
4. The ability to turn on and off your email
notifications.
How do I update my account information?
You can update your account information by
clicking on the button that says My Account.
Here you can update the following information:
1. Email Address
2. Password
I would like to close my SaveInTown Account?
Why would you want to do that? Do you not
like to save money for FREE? Well if you don't then
please send your request to info@saveintown.com.
Please provide your first name, last name, username
and password. We will respond within 24-48 hours to
close your account.
What should I comment about on a Vendor Savings?
We encourage our Savers to express their
enthusiasm for a Vendor's Savings. One of
SaveInTown's main features is to act as a bridge to
connect the consumer directly to their favorite
businesses. Comment on how you feel about the
Savings, your experience at the business if you've
used them before, if you plan on using the Savings
in the future, etc. These comments provide honest,
helpful feedback to the Vendor and other Savers.
They can see how their Savers like their business,
their Savings and overall experience which in turn,
continually makes the business better.
Who can find me on SaveInTown?
Other registered SaveInTown Savers and
Vendors only. We do not share your personal
information with outside third parties.
Who can contact me on SaveInTown?
Other SaveInTown Saver Buddies can message
you as well as Vendors that you are Saving With. If
you are not a SaveInTown user, you may receive
emails from Savers inviting you to sign up. If
you would like to remove a certain Saver Buddies or
Vendors, you can do so.
How can I use SaveInTown to promote my business?
Signing up as a Vendor gives you the
ability to advertise for free on a fast growing
social saving community. You have the ability to
post a Savings, add a printable coupon, send
messages directly to your Savers and send SMS
messages to your Savers (includes fee that is passed
on from us) all for free. Your savers have the
ability to comment on your Savings, rate your
Savings and Share Savings with their Saver Buddies.
The best way to promote your business on SaveInTown
is to fully complete your SaveFile page by clicking
on the My Business button on the top of your screen.
Adding keywords will help people find you on SaveInTown. We have optimized each an every
Vendor's SaveFile page to be easily be found on
SaveInTown as well as many of the popular search
engines (i.e. Google, Yahoo, Bing). We send
each and every Vendor a Certified Vendor sticker
that you can display at your location to let your
customers know of your involvement in SaveInTown.
Also, we encourage each Vendor to let their
customers know about SaveInTown any way possible.
We include a Download Area where you can download
Save With logos to add to business cards, brochures
and/or your website.
I accidentally signed up as a Saver, how do I upgrade my account to a Vendor account?
To upgrade your account as a vendor:
1. Sign in to your SaveInTown account.
2. Go to My Profile
3. On the left hand side will be an Upgrade To
Vendor link.
4. Click this link and follow the instructions to
upgrade your account.
What is a Savings?
A Savings is any type of deal, discount,
promotion, event or anything else you would like to
convey to your Savers.
What is a Saver?
A Saver is a consumer who has signed up for
SaveInTown, who wants to save money with the Vendors
who signed up. Savers will Save With your
business if they choose to.
What is my SaveFile page?
Your SaveFile page is a page that is created
by you for your business.
The SaveFile usually includes your business name,
your location, your hours of operation, a brief
summary of who you are, a map of your location,
Savings you posted (only viewable when signed in),
how many Savers are saving with your business, how
many views to your SaveFile page and how many
Savings you posted. You can update your
SaveFile page by clicking on My Business button on
the top of your screen. Adding search keywords
is very important as this will help people find you
on SaveInTown as well as other popular search
engines.
How do I post a Savings?
You can post any Savings you like on your
Savings Board page. You will see a text box
where you can type in the Savings that you want to
convey to your Savers. Once completed, you can
click on the Add Savings button to post this to your
Savings Board and all of your Savers' Savings
Boards. You can also delete a Savings by
clicking on the Delete Savings in the Savings
section. This will delete all ratings and
comments associated with that Savings. If
opted in, your Savers will receive an email with this
savings as well.
How do I post a printable coupon?
To post a printable coupon:
1. Click on the Coupons tab.
2. Fill in the three (3) fields. Headline will
convey the coupon, Details will explain the details
or terms of the deal, and the Expiration Date will
be the date that coupon expires. To add the
Expiration Date click on the calendar image and a
calendar will appear to choose a date.
3. Once completed, click Add Coupon and your coupon
will be posted to your Savings Board as well as your
Savers' Savings Board. If opted in, your
Savers will
receive an email with this coupn as well.
How can I send out messages to my Savers?
To send a message to your savers:
1. Click on the Messages tab.
2. Fill in the two (2) fields. Subject will be the
subject of your message, as well as message will be
the message you want to send to your Savers.
3. Once completed, click Send Message and your
message will be sent to all your Savers. If
opted in, your Savers will receive an email with this
message as well.
How can I send out SMS messages to my Savers?
To send a SMS message to your savers:
1. Click on the SMS tab.
2. Fill in the Message text area with the message
you would to send via SMS messaging to your Savers
mobile phone.
3. Choose how many Savers you would like to receive
this message. If you choose ALL, it will send
to ALL to your Savers who opted in for SMS messaging
and included their mobile numbers. You can
also select a random amount of SMS messages to go
out. You can view how many of your Savers are
opted in to receive SMS messages in your Analytics
page.
4. Fill in your payment information. Even
though this site is totally free, we have to pass
the cost to us to send SMS messages to you.
5. Once completed, click Send SMS and your message
will be sent to all your Savers who opted in to
receive SMS messages to their mobile phones.
How can I get a Sponsored Ad?
To get a Sponsored Advertisement, please
contact GlobalTech East Inc. at 1-866-804-2070.
I would like to close my SaveInTown Account?
Why would you want to do that? Do you not
like to advertise your business for FREE? Well if
you don't then please send your request to
info@saveintown.com. Please provide your business
name, first name, last name, username and password.
We will respond within 24-48 hours to close your
account.
Can I remove user comments from my Savings?
We do not encourage the removal of Savers'
comments, however if you feel a comment violates our
Terms of Service, Content Guidelines, or find
evidence to suggest a comment to be negative without
proof, please contact the SaveInTown Staff at
info@saveintown.com. Legal consequences can be
taken if a comment provides false information.
You will also have the ability to delete the whole
Savings you posted which will remove every comment
associated with it.
Can I comment on my own Savings?
No. Comments are made by Savers only to
comment and rate the Savings you posted.
Are comments displayed in any
particular order?
Comments are displayed in descending order
from the date which they were posted.
How do I update my business categories?
You can update your business categories in
your business profile by clicking on the My Business
tab on your home page. You can choose one, two
or three categories to be in. This will help
Savers find you easier by searching for categories.
For example, if you are a restaurant, you would
choose the restaurant category and when a Saver
searches restaurants, you will pop up under that
category.
How do I upload a photo/logo?
You can upload your photo or business logo
by either clicking on the photo/logo or under My
Profile/My Business you will see a link that says
Upload My Photo/Logo. Once in the Upload
Photo/Logo area you can choose the location of your
photo/logo and upload. You have the ability to
delete the photo as well and revert back to the
default SaveInTown photo. Photos with a square
aspect will look better on SaveInTown.
I forgot my password?
If you have forgotten your password, you
can click on the Forgot Your Password? link under
any sign-in area. Here it will ask for your
login email address and send you a new random
password.
